Consumer Reports awards the Honda Fit as the highest-rated subcompact

Simply Fit for an awards ceremony, The Honda Fit Sport has received top spot among tested subcompact cars from Consumer Reports. The all-new Honda Fit scored over its competitors including the Toyota Yaris and Nissan Versa in Consumer Reports' tests of six subcompacts and small sedans for the March issue. Consumer Reports testers found the newly-redesigned Fit a practical and enjoyable car. It provides easy access to the cabin. It is well-equipped with a bevy of features and offers comfortable seating.

The base Fit is packed with a 118-horsepower, 1.5 liter four-cylinder engine that ensures quick takeoffs. The five-speed automatic in the base model offers a more relaxed ride, while the Fit Sport's five-speed manual transmission is easy to shift and enhances its sportiness. Two trim levels of the Fit the base model with an automatic transmission and the manual upscale Sport model were tested by the Consumer Reports. Both of these vehicles received "Very Good" overall road test scores. The Fit and the Suzuki SX4 are the only vehicles from the March month's test group that are recommended by Consumer Reports. The recommendation is made on the basis of good performance in CR's tests. The vehicles must have performed at least adequately in crash-tested or included in a government rollover test and have minimum average predicted reliability based on Consumer Reports' Annual Car Reliability Survey.
